For consumers
How does the map decide which stands to show?
We show stands that are currently live(the vendor tapped "Go Live") within roughly 5 kilometres of your location. Stands are ranked with boosted listings first, then by distance.
The map is empty. Is Stroam broken?
Probably not. Stands only appear when a vendor has explicitly gone live, so on slow days or in markets where Stroam just launched the map can look quiet. Try widening your filters, or come back at lunch (11 AM–2 PM) or dinner (5 PM–9 PM) — the peak windows.
Why does the app ask for my location?
So we can show vendors near you. We only request location while the app is open — never in the background — and we don't store it on our servers. See the privacy policy for full detail.
How do I pay a vendor?
You pay the vendor directly, in person, using whichever method they accept — cash, card, Apple Pay, Venmo, Zelle, or e-Transfer. Stroam is not a payment processor for in-person purchases. Tap a stand to see what they accept before you walk over.
How do I report a problem with a stand?
Tap the stand, then tap "Report" at the bottom of the detail card. Or email support@stroamapp.com with the stand name. We review reports within one business day.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings and tap "Delete account." Deletion is permanent and cascades through every record tied to your account — profile, favorites, recently viewed, reviews, and any vendor data you control.
For vendors
What does going live actually do?
Toggling Go Live flips your stand to visible on every consumer's map within a second. Toggle it off when you close — otherwise the map shows you as open when you're not. We'll be adding an auto-offline timer in a near-term update so a forgotten toggle won't leave you live overnight.
How do I get my first customers?
Three things help the most: a clear photo of your food (not your truck), a complete menu with prices, and going live during peak windows. Boost is a paid option that puts your stand at the top of nearby search during your peak hours.
What does Pro include and what does it cost?
Pro is CAD $19/month and unlocks unlimited stands, cross-stand analytics, staff access (per-stand scoping), menu sync between stands, and 90-day analytics retention. Hobby (free, forever) keeps you on the map with one stand, full menu, reviews, and 30-day analytics. See the full breakdown on /pricing.
How do refunds work for Pro or Boost?
Pro can be cancelled any time from your dashboard. You keep Pro features through the end of the period you've paid for; we don't pro-rate partial months. If you live in Ontario, you may have the right to cancel an internet contract within 10 days under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002. Email support@stroamapp.com within 10 days to exercise that right. Boosts are non-refundable once the window has started unless we caused a technical failure that prevented delivery.
Do I need a business licence to list?
Yes — Stroam requires you to comply with every applicable municipal, provincial, and federal law including health, food safety, allergen disclosure, tax, zoning, and permit requirements. We don't verify permits, so by listing you confirm you have the ones you need.
How do I invite a manager or employee?
On Pro: open your stand → Staff → enter their email and pick a role (manager or employee). They get an invite link and can manage only the stands you assign them.
How do I leave Stroam?
Delete your account from Settings. Stand listings, menus, reviews, and analytics all cascade out within 30 days. See the privacy policy for the data-deletion timeline.
